The road to Leuven / El camino a Lovaina

In 2007, I participated in a student exchange program in Leuven, Belgium. I hated it. No, really. I hated Belgium and its stupid chocolate and beer and cold, damp weather. But really, I didn't hate it; I just suffered from a classic case of culture shock. Once I returned to Mexico, I realized I actually loved it, and am now in the process of applying for a Master at KULeuven. Also, I realized there aren't any good blogs detailing the process of applying to KULeuven or life in Leuven.

Panicking in 3, 2, 1...

Yesterday I realized it is only 6 weeks from my ideal departure date! I am in no way ready for this. I still need to:

~~go to Mexico City and apply for a visa (Aug. 17)~~
go to Mexico City to sign scholarship paperwork (no date yet)
~~open a bank account for said scholarship~~
~~buy a plane ticket~~
~~make a reservation at a hostel or temporary housing in Leuven.~~
~~go to McAllen, TX to say goodbye to my grandma~~
~~pay the translator~~
~~have KUL fax a copy of my admission letter to the Embassy~~
~~fill out the visa paperwork~~
~~buy a laptop~~
